Positano Cooking Vacation

This was the view from our balcony each morning during our week in Positano with Cooking Vacations! I had read about this trip in an issue of National Geographic Traveler and had tucked the idea in the back of my head til the time was right.

We landed in Naples and were met by a representative from Cooking Vacations who drove us to our hotel in Positano. Every guide book says the roads on the Amalfi Coast are not for the faint of heart — and they are correct, but the views are spectacular! We spent a day in Capri, taking a boat from the main beach in Positano. Another day was spent touring the markets of Amalfi and having lunch in Ravello.

One afternoon we hiked the Path of the Gods that provided breathtaking views of the Amalfi Coast and challenged our calf muscles on the steps back into Positano.

In between all our sightseeing, we made mozzarella cheese, ravioli, pizza…

…vegetables, tiramisu and tasted wines and olive oil!

Cooking Vacations designed a week long vacation that had just the right mix of cooking classes, sightseeing and free time. When the week was over, we took the train from Naples to Rome to spend a few days before flying home. More about Rome in the next blog.Ciao!
